You can take JEE Main if you passed Class 12 in the previous two years or are taking it this year, with Physics and Mathematics plus Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology or a technical vocational subject. There is no age limit. Each year gives two attempts, across up to three consecutive years.
For admission to NITs, IIITs and other centrally funded institutes, you also need at least 75% in Class 12 (65% for SC and ST candidates), or to be in the top 20 percentile of your board.
The top 2,50,000 candidates in Paper 1 can register for JEE Advanced, the entrance to the IITs.
Your NTA score is a percentile, normalised across the shifts so a harder shift doesn't count against you. Your rank uses the better of your two session scores.
Yes. A wrong answer loses 1 mark in both the multiple-choice and the numerical-answer questions. An unanswered question scores zero.
Twice a year, for up to three consecutive years: at most six attempts.
The top 2,50,000 candidates in JEE Main Paper 1, split by category, can register for JEE Advanced, the gateway to the IITs.
No. Calculators and other electronic devices aren't allowed in the exam hall.
Paper 1 is for BE and BTech. Paper 2A is for BArch and Paper 2B for BPlanning.
